Orthodontics in Bradenton, FL

Crooked teeth, gaps, and bite issues don’t get better by themselves. You have to fix them. Orthodontics does that.

Corona Family Dental sees patients of all ages. A seven-year-old with teeth coming in crooked. A teenager who wants a better smile for senior pictures. A 45-year-old who’s finally ready to deal with that gap. Everyone’s situation is different, so we start by listening. Then we make a plan.

What Is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics straightens teeth and fixes how your bite lines up. When teeth sit too close together or twist to the side, food gets stuck. You brush, but you miss spots. Plaque builds up anyway.

A bad bite makes things worse. Your top teeth hit your bottom teeth wrong. They scrape and wear each other down over time. Eating takes more effort than it should. Maybe your jaw hurts when you wake up. Maybe you get headaches you can’t explain. Straightening your teeth solves these problems. Chewing gets easier. The jaw pain fades. And you finally get the smile you’ve been wanting.

Lots of our patients drive in from Lakewood Ranch, Palmetto, Ellenton, and Parrish. You’ll get the same care at either office. Just go with whichever is closer.

Treatment

When Should You Consider Orthodontic Treatment?

  • For kids: The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first visit by age 7. By that age, most of the grown-up teeth have pushed through. That lets us catch problems like crowding or bite issues before they get worse. Bringing your child in early doesn’t mean braces right away. It just helps us keep an eye on things.
  • For teens: This is the most common time for braces or aligners. The permanent teeth are in. The jaw is still changing shape. That combo gives us a good chance to move teeth into the right spots.
  • For adults: There’s no age limit. Got healthy teeth and gums? Then you’re a good fit for treatment. These days, about one in four orthodontic patients is over 18.

If you’re not sure whether you or your child needs treatment, start with a consultation. We’ll look at your bite, check the spacing, and let you know what we see.

Services

Our Orthodontic Services

We offer a range of options to fit different needs and lifestyles.

Invisalign

These are clear trays you can pop in and out. No metal wires. No brackets glued to your teeth. Teens and adults pick them a lot because most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. Curious if they’d work for you? Check out our Invisalign page to learn more.

Clear Aligners

Removable trays that gradually shift teeth into place. They work well for mild to moderate spacing and alignment problems. For details on clear aligner options, see our Clear Aligners page.

Retainers

After treatment, retainers keep your teeth from shifting back. Wearing them is a big part of keeping your results. To understand retainer types and care, visit our Retainers page.

Orthodontic Consultation

Not sure where to start? We’ll look at your teeth, go over your choices, and help you pick a direction. For details on what happens during your first visit, see our Orthodontic Consultation page.

Orthodontic Cleaning

Braces trap food and plaque. Cleanings during treatment keep your teeth and gums healthy. For more on why these cleanings matter, check out our Orthodontic Cleaning page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Patient Questions

An orthodontist fixes problems with tooth alignment and bite. They use braces, aligners, and other appliances to move teeth into better positions. The result is a straighter smile that’s easier to clean and works the way it should.
Kids should have their first orthodontic visit by age 7. At that age, enough adult teeth have come in for us to spot developing issues. An early visit doesn’t mean early braces—it just helps us plan for what’s ahead.
Yes. Adults can get orthodontic treatment at any age. Options like Invisalign and clear aligners make it easier to straighten teeth without anyone noticing. If your teeth and gums are healthy, you’re a good candidate.
Braces cause some soreness, especially in the first few days or after adjustments. Most people call it pressure, not pain. Over-the-counter pain relievers help if you need them. The discomfort doesn’t last long.
